web based hard drive search?

I have a folder that's full of various documents, mostly word and excel stuff and I'm trying to locate a search utility that can index the documents and thier contents and then allow me to search via a web form. It's not actually a web server just a computer that happened to host file so it needs to use javascript. Really after typing this all out it sounds pretty impossible.

Currently we're using http://www.harddisksearch.com/ which requires that you launch a program and that then searches everything. I'm just trying to find something a little more direct. Thanks!

Browsers are now written to try to block access like this for your protection, so it isn't likely you'll find something.

I've used both of those and they're both good products. I haven't used their web products, but I have used their search engines in my software before, and I'm sure their web apps are just as good.
