Web Access via Cell Phones/PDAs

My wife travels and needs to be able to log into her email accounts at Yahoo and Honda Motor Company. The Honda account is web based and she connects through a browser. We were looking at laptops and using her cell phone and the laptop modem to connect. But it occurred to me that maybe she could use a cell or PDA. The PDA seems the more logical route as she could get one of the folding keyboards to use to type.
I am new to this and I assume that this is doable but the details are lacking for me. If she flies into Missouri from California what would she need to access the internet? I assume the ISP would have to be one of the major ones to insure complete coverage. Any tips or links so I can find out more about this?
TIA

Cellphone-PDA combo? Seems like the best thing for her if she's just interested in e-mail. Otherwise, all the major service providers should be able to set you up to use your existing cellphone for a modem. They act as the ISP.

I would personally recommend buy a T-Mobile Sidekick as it is a hybrid PDA/Cell-Phone/AIM/Web-Browser and I am able to access my yahoo email and any POP3 e-mail accounts.

A color version is coming out at July-June of this year. AT&T and T-Mobile will combine GSM/GPRS service in June and you can connect all over the country.

Where do you think I'm posting from right now? A T-Mobile Sidekick.

Skip the folding keyboard types, it's a major pain to carry that thing around with you. While it's alright to have sitting in the office or take to your hotel room, if you're truly looking for mobile connections, then you can't be expected to lug around an extra piece of equipment all the time.

You need to find out if there's a WAP version of the Honda's site. Compliance with a PDA/browser may be a concern. Another is security (from Honda's point of view).

69.00 / month for unlimited internet access.

I can surf the web on my pocketpc using my cell phone. Your cell phone should have the capability for Infrared. So I dial up to my local ISP using my pocket pc through its IR port. Most likely, if you do it this way, you will only use your minutes on your cell phone account and you will not be charged for data transfer.

But I don't think I have been able to access my hotmail on the browser. It has microsoft outlook, so you could use that if needed. I think the browser doesn't support web based email.
