If anyone else is running this program, have you found a way to turn it off? I've been able to set it so that it doesn't autostart when I boot up. But, I've noticed that when I open the program it will always remain on in the background, even after it is terminated. I am continually forced to go into Startup Control Panel to close it down. Also, I have two profiles on my system. Whenever my daughter signs into her profile, Weatherbug auto starts. Again, anyone know how to shut this down? Small potatoes in the overall scheme of things, but buggin' me nonetheless. I'm running W2K Pro, SP2.
Thank you.

Open up WB, goto the button on the top left hand side, press it and go into setup.

Once in setup choose Options. At the top left hand side there should be a check box that allows you to enable/disable "Start WeatherBug when Windows starts"

I was in the same situation and eventually got round to finding out how to get rid of it too ;)

Thank you, gtd. That did the trick, at least as far as stopping WB from kicking in at startup. Still haven't figured how to shut it down, though, when the program shuts down. Still need to go into Startup Control Panel for that.

Hey gtd 2000, I see you live in Lakeland. I used to live in Rock Ridge on Country Haven Dr.. I still own the property I just don't live in it anymore.

Carbo,
OK - I assume you mean you don't know how to close it after you load the program?

All you need to do is - close the window for WB by using the X (teaching you to suck eggs here I know....) in the right hand top corner.
Then all that remains to be done is put your pointer over the temperature icon in the system tray by the clock (bottom right hand side) then "right click" and choose "Terminate WeatherBug".

Now assuming you have disabled the startup of WB then you should never see it unless you manually start the program.

Veryape,
I'm not too sure where that is actually - I've only been in Lakeland for around 2 months now. Moved down from Pennsylvania in October, however, I am actually Scottish, but working over here with a large German company shall we say ;).
Coincidentally I was slated to be working in Rhode Island - which then changed to Chicago, then Minneapolis...then Curitiba (Brazil) and finally..... Lakeland, Florida ;)

I think winters are definitely more aggreable down here in Florida though :D

gtd, yeah, I understand how to shut down the program. What I'm trying to say is that even after the program is shutdown it remains on in the background for some reason. I'm running W2K Pro, and I use Startup Control Panel to keep an eye on running programs.
After WB is terminated, if you look in HKCU/Run panel, WB appears as running in the background. Not a biggie. I just want to kill the sucker.

I'm not familiar with Win2K unfortunately.

I use WinNT SP5 at work and once I, "terminate", WB it appears to have gone for good...according to the program manager anyway.
