i think power supplies and display tech will be the limiting factor for a while.
just imagine - to see the equivalent of a 19" 4:3 lcd on a glasses screen or contact lens as the article suggests, you'd need a 1280x1024 pixel res in a <1cm diagonal size.

thats over 4000 PPI compared to the ~300 we're at today.


power supplies will be limiting for obvious reasons, although glasses based displays will obviously come first.

maybe power generating /storing clothing will come into play.
