Doesn't matter how "hot" the sun is, you still need to protect yourself from UV rays.

I put SPF30 on my head and face if I'm going to be outside for more than an hour (golf) but I don't usually put any on my arms/legs. They don't ever burn.

I don't use it, but I am naturally dark, in full tan I can look 'black'. I usually do one burn / peel and I am set for the season. My wife needs 70-90SPF to keep up with me.

A couple weeks ago she had a nice base tan so only used 90 on her face and 70 on her shoulders. She didn't burn but you can see where the 70 was used if you look close :)

I should use it myself, I spend most of afterwork and a majority of my weekends topless and outside in brutal S. Florida sun.

If you have a decent base tan, you're probably safe for normal sun exposure on those areas. :)

BUT..........
If you have areas that normally burn (in my case, nose, tips of ears, cheekbones & around my eyes), then definitely put sunblock on if you're spending more than 20-30 minutes outside, unless you have some other covering (in other words clothing) that covers it.
Also, if you're going to be outside for more than a few hours, put some on. Doesn't hurt, and it'll keep you from burning through your tan. And yes, that is possible. Even people with really dark skin can burn, though it's rare.

Myth. Your skin is getting just as damaged.

I only wear it if I'm going to get sunburn. That depends on how long, where, and what time of year. Also really depends on what kind of color my skin has. By summer I won't need it unless I'm out there 12+ hours a day.

I hate greasy sunscreen.

They have new stuff now that goes on dry and finishes powdery to where you really don;t feel like you are wearing anying.

Neturogena sheer with helioplex. SPF 55, 70, and 80.

I tan pretty well - I go from pasty-white to olive-skinned in about a week of solid sun, so the only times I use it is when I head south during the winter and know I'll burn badly if I don't do something.

Since I worked outside for most of my life, YES, I wear sunscreen in the summer months.

Even with a SPF 40+ sunscreen, I still get brown...and look like my reservation relatives.

Occasionally, but I should wear it more, I get burned often enough.

I wear on my face all year round

I definitely wear it if I'm going to the beach or going to be shirtless but I don't do it if I am wearing short sleeves or anything

I glow in the moonlight, and I think that is cool. In order to maintain that, I have to wear at least 45 or more when exposed to the sun. I wear sunscreen all year long.
