We got into a discussion in one of my classes about how the Iraq war is good or bad. I personally don't agree with it. My question that none one answered concerned Weapons of Mass Destruction. Since they entered Iraq, I never heard of them finding any, what's the deal?

Anyone see Terminator 2? Remember those guns that Sarah Conner had hidden out there in the desert?

In real life you can really hide things using that concept. I buried my dead dog in my backyard a few years ago. I bet Hans Blix couldn't find it.

Truth is stranger than fiction, and I see Bush as a sort of fictional character I see on TV sometimes.

Hussien probably has ungerground storage all over the place that only he and a few others know about. It will probably take years to find anything there. We've been there for ten months we aren't going to find everything (if there's anything) right away. He could have them and he couldn't I don't know either way. I'm not Hussien and he and a few others are the only ones that know the real answer. Also the one thing that I've noticed about people bitching that WMD's haven't been found already are mostly the same people that were bitching about giving Hussien more time to provide evidence that he didn't have them.

well, the Inspectors were doing the exact thing (looking for WMD) before they were told to pull out

Very true. However why anyone thinks they can be found more quickly after the war is anyones guess. It's going to take quite a bit of time regardless of who's searching. Just because the military is there now it doesn't mean they have WMD detectors that tell them exactly where everything is. They may have information from higher ups they've captured and whatnot that could help speed things up, but it's still not going to happen overnight.

I was listening to NPR yesterday... they were discussing one of the well known think-tanks in D.C. (I can't remember which one - Carnegie something?) Anyway, the conclusion of the think tank was that the White House most certainly exaggerated the facts in order to get the war approved in Iraq for other reasons than the ones stated.

Yah I sort of agree we need to give it some time, they di find Saddam, but "they have WMD detectors that tell them exactly where everything is." so why haven't they found them yet. Sorry, I just picture this soldier with something that looks like a metal detector that's beeping and labled WMD detector.

I think they are there. Some archeologist will probably find them thousands of years from now. Thats a lot of sand to sift through.

it was Interesting to heard Kofi Annan speak right after that War started, for the first time i saw him a bit furstrated with the events going on, he infact said that the US should show more restraint/patience, :D

I would believe that if we didn't have the resources to set Saddam up or maybe we did and they will be found right before the elections. I believe the war was just but I would have covered my ass. You can bet some black market weapons would have been smuggled in during the war/confusion. Surely we have some "throw down" weapons.
