Cliffs:

needed a new dish to (finally) pick up local HD channels

dish schedules work order two weeks ago, for today, between 8-12, to have new dish put up

no call to confirm, so i call them

work order gone? they have no record of one being set up, and now try to tell me the reason im not picking up the HD channels is because my receiver isn't set up right.

if i didnt have to pay to get out of our contract, i'd be gone to DirecTV in a heartbeat. 🙁

I rescheduled it for this Friday. Not holding my breath. Ugh

That sucks. I didn't have any problems, but the lady on the phone didn't really clarify the fact that they were going to be installing a second dish, pointed a different direction than the first.

When I originally called, "Maverick" from El Paso said I needed a third dish. Hung up.

Then someone told me i just needed a "reauthorization signal", and theyd show up within an hour. Nope.

Then finally they told me I needed the larger Dish 1000, and tried to charge me for it. Nope.

Called back again, got them to waive the install fee, and set up todays "work order". Well that sure worked out.

They are nothing but hassle.

get used to dish network giving you the run around. since getting dish last December i have been lied too many times by their customer service people. their billing service also i terrible, do not get the auto bill pay they offer for free cinemax for 1 year. i have had to call all but 2 months so far for billing errors they have made. get direct TV

Usually it's not Dish, it's the local bozos they contract to do their work.

That was my biggest complaint when I had Dish. They show up and rushed though the install, leaving a huge mess. I've seen some bad DirecTV installs in my area too, but none as bad as the last Dish install I had.
