Hi everyone, I'm at my wits end trying to figure out my problem with accessing my modified xbox wirelessly.
My cable model inputs to a Netgear WGT624 Wireless Router. On the WGT624 I have a wired computer and Linksys VOIP phone. My laptop connects wirelessly via a Netgear WG511T PCMCIA card. So far no problems. I added a Motorola WE800g Wireless Ethernet Bridge to my modified XBOX to stream files wirelessly from the wired computer. This works fine and he XBOX has access to the internet as it can download RSS feeds and surf the net with linksboks. However my wireless laptop cannot access the XBOX at all or vice versa. The XBOX has a webserver and ftp server on it that I want to access with the wireless laptop. I cannot, but I can on the wired PC. If I disable the wireless card on the laptop and connect it wirelessly then I can connect to the XBOX via HTTP and FTP no problem.
I'm starting to wonder if this is a limitation of Wireless Ethernet Bridges. But I would think that if everything is going through the router it should matter whether the requests are originating from a wired or wireless computer.
The webserver on the Xbox Media Center acts as a remote control, so if I can get this to work my laptop becomes my remote control. I would like to get a pocket PC with a wireless Compact Flash Card in it that would call the webpage and thus be my remote control.
Can anyone confirm that this is even possible with this setup?
