We Were Soldiers

I just saw it, it was GREAT😀

It was very visual, more grusome(sp?) than Saving Private Ryan. But i thought it was pretty good.

It makes me wanna play MOH:AA. . . but I dont have it :|

the most gruesome war movie i've ever seen was hamburger hill.... just fyi, i you want to see a really gory film 🙂

<< Was it better than Full Metal Jacket? >>

Full Metal Jacket was a different kind of cool...I left w/a better feeling after WWS than after FMJ

I liked the war scenes but the rest of it was, uh, kind of cheesy. Especially the parts with the woman. If I had of known Felicity was in it I wouldn't have gone. 😉

That's kinda what I thought, which is why I haven't seen it. It looks far too emotional.

Exactly. When it was good, it was really good. When they weren't fighting and it was trying to be an emotional sob story gimme a f*cking award type movie I almost wanted to leave.

<< Was it actually that good? I head it was just another braveheart film >>

Hmmm...there was an emotional speech and a little bit of trickery...as there was in both Braveheart and The Patriot

Do NOT see this movie for the women. They were "cheesy" I dont wanna give away any spoilers so I wont explain why.

But the war scenes were great!🙂

What, you're saying the women weren't brave too? Give them some fvcking credit! I thought it was awesome that the movie depicted that side of the story. Behind every great soldier is a supportive spouse! I was an" Army Brat" most of my young life, and that fact was obvious.

I'm gonna have to disagree with that... I remember SPR being much more gory.
That said, all in all it was still quite good.

The woman cast as Lt Col Moore's (Mel Gibson) wife in the movie sure looked rode hard a put away wet. She looked like quite the mess with the cologen injected lips and the ratty hair. I just couldn't stand to look at her face when there was closeups.

As far as the movie being greusome, I don't think it was all that bad. Just quite a bit of blood, but no actual bodyparts flying around. SPR was more gory.

Did nayone else notice that the one senior officer, second in command to mel gibson, had like god mode or something on during hte battles??? he could jsut stand there and never get shot.

Josh

For those of you that liked the movie, you will love the book "We were soldiers once and young". Much much more detail than the movie.

Movie was good but had some real cheesy comments in it. I also didnt think they needed to have all the religeon.

How about that one scene... POSSIBLE SPOILER AHEAD

Where the black woman cries? That was such BAD acting... I seiously couldnt tell if she was crying or laughing. I'm still thinking she was laughing.

<< uh.. she wadnt laughin... >>

indeed she wasn't,

but how come you NEVER saw the asian guy or the black guy shoot anyone?

well to me, this movie is basically black hawk down cept the somalis are replaced with viets
