But we also have to look at today, when our debt is overwhelming and we are cavity searched when getting on a plane.

Our debt is overwhelming is party because we aren't taxing enough (undergoverned) and partly because we spend on stupid things like Iraq invasion (overgoverned) but we are cavity searched (overgoverned).

Another example, banking (undergoverned) and prude-ism on TV (overgoverned).

Isn't a societal feeling nothing more than a collective of personal feelings?

Are you saying that society, as a whole, cannot feel unsafe?

Or that a person, in the individual, cannot feel under-governed?

A person, in the individual, will never feel society, unless society demands his compliance. IE Government.

To say you are under-governed is the opposite of individuality. It is a mentality of the collective.
