I think China has some serious problems to overcome, which largely revolves around human rights, freedom of speech and government corruption. However, that does not mean that I support either of the causes cited above. I do not believe in the slightest that Falun Gong is about "practicing meditation" - largely due to wild supernatural claims by its founder and it's aggressive propaganda - and I'd liken it more with Scientology than I would with Tai Chi. As for Tibet, I'd be curious how the US would react if several states (and to stir controversy, say these states have a large Latin American population) decided they wanted to be an independent country. I wonder how we'd react. Like I said, I don't support China's actions, but I find that we (as in "the West") make judgments and throw our support in causes we often know little about.
