Now NVidia and ATI will most likely try to counter it. 3dfx introduced useable FSAA so NVidia added it and ATI had it as a feature on the Radeon. ATI took the speed crown away from NVidia so they then made the det 3 drivers to counter it. Now that 3dfx has introducted HSR to wipe away the competetion NVidia and ATi will hopefully make drivers to increased their card's speed. In the end we all may benefit from this!(Well except for S3 and Matrox card owners:))

NVIDIA had FSAA first in their 2.xx drivers for TNT2 owners. They removed it however with the 3.xx and beyond.

I am kind of confused. Does it only improve Quake III performance, OpenGl performance or all 3D performance?

pidge, i'm pretty sure it is only being tested now as an added gl extension in OGL games.

"SUPPOSEDLY", it'll be enabled in the enxt set of drivers for all 3d rendering, regardless of API.

I'm not going to hold my breath tho.
