We should be able to delete our own threads.

I've been on a few forums and the one feature I like is the ability for the user to delete their own thread. It's a great feature.

On ATOT I sometimes will start a thread and then realise I wanted to talk about something else. Instead of asking a mod to lock the thread, I think giving us the ability to delete it would make their job easier.

Could you implement this is the future? :)

It's not that we don't like your idea. It's just that we don't believe it would work well here. Too many trolls.

The need to be able to read things to moderate.

Even if that seems to not happen sometimes.

Either edit thread title asking Mods to lock or change it to something highly inappropriate, both are effective

On a forum I helped run several years back, one fellow got upset and erased every single post he'd ever made. He was apparently quite upset.

If we delete posts and threads, other people wont get the "valuable" info from the thread. Also, there is a trolling issue  specifically in some parts of this forum. Trolls will say they want to build a $300 build, delete it 1 day later and want to build a $5000 build :smack:.

You can put a time limit in place. I would disagree with the valuable thread thing. There are so many useless threads that get jumbled into the searches that if anything, they hurt more than help.

In regards to trolling, that won't make any difference. A troll is a troll and will post a thread regardless.

Editing thread titles once posted should only be allowed by a MOD, not a user. The forum software should allow such a change. One user in particular seems to be doing a lot of thread title editing to nothing for whatever personal reason, and it needs to stop and at least the thread titles restored.

I can also see needing to possibly edit the thread titles by users in Merchandise and Shopping such as in Hot Deals or FS/T, but anywhere else it is highly inappropriate to be doing that on a regular basis, just because a user may not like the way a thread is going.

If a MOD would like the name of this particular user I have in mind, I would be happy to provide it via PM.
