We need some more competition threads again, like back in the day with our s939 + BH5/TCCD setups ?

I miss some of the competition threads we used to have on here. It was something fun to do which everyone enjoyed.

Ohh the good old days of maxing out your s939 system, tweaking that little bit more from your RAM and processor, and squeezing out that extra few more Mhz for the extra points in crystalmark etc.

Examples:

Super PI, example

CrystalMark 2004, example (easily the best competition we had on here back then)

They were great, we should get something going again with our Core 2 Duo's and the mental memory speeds/timings people are getting.

I wonder maybe someone can do say another Photoshop one, I liked it a lot back when they made it. Although my slow rig lost too badly but nevertheless fun as hell. Or another cool one say a mpeg2->xvid video compression competition use same software etc. see who's rig come up to top. Although I have a feeling C2Qs will.

Why don't you start one?

I think it'd be more interesting if a certain CPU clock limit was assumed. (e.g. up to 3.0GHz) Otherwise it's more of a CPU overclock contest rather than system optimization.

We do indeed. He was good at formatting the first post with all the results, and keeping it up to date.
