for those who liked that movie (you just had to look past the unrealisticness of some of it)

we have not had a good fighter jet movie for a while...Lost behind enemy lines was good, but most of that was not a jet movie...

I think they should make another...but what should it be about?
 
no we do not need another Top Gun. Furthermore, we do not need another post from you either.

I agree, I would like to see another movie that is full of dogfights and stuff like that. Hollywood could do it really well now.
 
come on man you got Stealth! what more could you want. it will make a whole new generation of teenagers want to become military aviators.

p.s. I loved Top Gun! I was pretty excited a few months ago when they let me fly through Miramar's airspace 🙂 yes I know that isn't where they keep Top Gun anymore.

top gun is the most homoerotic movie of all time. i don't think we need another. why are there so many young gay men now? because they watched top gun in their formative years

i never thought of it as homoerotic until i saw a MST3K type comedy thing featuring top gun, which completely opened my eyes to the truth (and the fact that tom skerritt's sunglasses change color 3 times during 1 scene)
 
The days of movies like Top Gun and Iron Eagle are long gone, there is no need to pump ourselves up on Cold War patriotism. Besides even with the aging jets that are in service now our airforce has almost no match with anyone that would want to pick a fight with us.

I was excited when we (Journey & Crew) toured the Abraham Lincoln (2000)and the "Air Boss" was the guy who played the tower commander who denies Maverick's request for a fly by to no avail. That guy, among others is (was) a real USN officer. Apparently MANY of the extras in TG were USN service personnel. The next best was getting to fly the F-18 control simulator at Oceana in 2001 and almost landing the plane on an aircraft carrier offshore. We each got one approach and I was high in the pattern and approaching too fast and was waved off. Call the BALLL !!!

What would be the premise? We currently don't have any enemies that have enough of an air force for the US to even worry about, and before you say China...that is simply laughable.

uh, it's called Quentin Tarantino dude.
 
with the stealth fighters today, they could just film the sky, and do cgi explosions in the air when a plane gets hit. Since they are invisible, we wont see anything until they explode. If u dont see anything, its cause the fighter got away alive.
