This will be stationary lander that sports a borrower that should go down to 16 feet.

"Digging Deep
The heat flow and physical properties package has a probe that burrows down as far as 16 feet (5 meters) below the surface. That's deeper than previous instruments to any other planet, moon, or asteroid, which have only ever dug through the upper inch of rock or soil."

My power’s really low, so this may be the last image I can send. Don’t worry about me though: my time here has been both productive and serene.

On 20 December 2022, NASA announced that the InSight lander had lost communications with Earth on 18 December 2022, with the end of the mission being declared on 21 December 2022.[6][25][26]


12/21/22 is today. :(

No surprise they've decided to go with internal power sources going forward. That super fine dust is just a killer for solar panels.
