I've said it before: People who perform, support, and/or endorse the concept of suicide bombing to target innocent civilians do not qualify in my book as "human beings" and do not deserve the respect we should give our fellow humans. These people deserve no better than to be exterminated, like a common household pest infestation.

No. They are human beings whether you like it or not. We must recognize that they are fallible human beings who can feel pain and suffering and have hopes of their own. THEN we kill them all. So long as we don't shout "Allahu akbar," pray for our 72 virgins in paradise and drag the corpses of our enemies through the street, we'll be fine.

They feel threatened and want to kill their enemies. You feel threatened by that thought and want to kill them instead. How does that make you any better/different?

He's not targeting innocent civilians. There's a clearly defined difference there, Sky. Please don't act as if you don't see it.

Oh, umm, good question. Maybe because they killed 3,000 Americans and would kill 3,000,000 more if they could?

Mohammed Atta & friends felt threatened by the 3000-odd people they killed in the WTC? I would wager that those 3000 people were a hell of a lot more concerned about, oh, their families, their paychecks, their careers, their own lives, as opposed to this "glorious struggle against the Great Satan" (or whatever the hell these jihadi freaks call it).

I have no wish to see innocent people die. However, I stand by what I said: Those who perform, support, and/or endorse suicide bombing should be exterminated.

Honestly, wanting to defend our way of life (not remove theirs) shouldn't be called to question. Rabid dogs are rounded up and exterminated before they can injure too many "innocent" people. Its just the way of things. I think if any group in any country decided to act this way, they need to treated the same. I don't think there is too much reveling in the taking of life from the forces of the "free" world. It just isn't what is taught to us as children. Say the same about group being discussed here and you would be lying. Killing and hate are taught as the "norm". It is simply unjust to let any group indiscriminately target civilians. When you join the army, you know part of your job is the risk of being targeted and killed.

We just need to find a way to allow them to suicide bomb the Indian Ocean... this is like a give-and-take situation. We give them what they want -- the right to suicide-bomb -- and they let us pick the target. Simple, right?

Yep. I love to hear about unsuccessful suicide bombers. Every time I think that if they can only do a few million more of those, there won't be any people left who want to be suicide bombers. 😀

or perhaps just blow themselves up and only themselves? they missed the boat by a mile. look at the poignant immolation deaths of Buddhist monks😛

Actually there were very few suicide bombings during "Defensive Shield." Even CNN could have told you that..

Because they have will have no time to plan (They probably don't plan it, just strap a bomb on and run) when Israelis are attacking. After the campaign, the bombers are back.

I could tell you that Israel has made dozens of peace offers since 1948. I could tell you the demographic history of the Palestine mandate. I could tell you that Israel's 1949 borders included 600,000 Jews and 350,000 Arabs, most of whom had recently moved to the Jewish areas because of the quality of life the Jews brought with them. I could tell you that far more Jews were absorbed by Israel after they were expelled from Arab countries than the number of Arabs who voluntarily left their homes in Israel. I could tell you that the Palestinian Authority teaches its children that their goal is the destruction of the Jewish state and that their "Palestine" includes the entire British mandate. But you wouldn't know what I was talking about, nor would you care. And that is why you are hopeless.

Why are you changing the topic from "they both want their land" to "Israel made peace offers throughout the conflict"? Look at the map today, West Bank is occupied by Israel, Gaza Strip is occupied, Golan Heights as well. How does that differ from the original UN plan?

They're reluctant to give up the land, period. Sharon's party don't even want a Palestinian state to be created.

"This just in: we have received word that a group of fifteen suicide bombers have parachuted from airplanes strapped with explosives in an attempt to sink an American battle cruiser."

"Unfortunately for the suicide bombers, the explosives failed."

"The current issue for the battle cruiser at the moment is deciding which group is responsible for the cleanup. Rumor has it that they are engaged in a LAN party of counterstrike. Cleanup detail will be assigned to the losers at 0600."

Ah, if only it were that easy. Too bad we don't have any battle cruisers.

As I said, it is almost impossible to see who are the fundamentalists and who are not. Even those who in anger shout out for revenge may never do such a thing. If you want to eliminate all fundamentalists you can either not do anything until something happens or you have proof that it will, or you can target everyone you suspect to be fanatic, and their families (people tend to dislike their family members being jailed and/or murdered for no apparent reason, and will distrust/hate those doing so). And where will that end? Where do you put the line of religion and fundamentalism? I have Muslim friends who were abhorred about the 9/11 act, but who support the Palestinians when it concerns the fighting in Israel, as they consider them the suppressed people there. Are they fundamentalists? (Note: These people were angry when that Dutch rightwing extremist politician got murdered and I said 'Good, glad we are rid of him', as they felt no human life should be taken if not for selfpreservation)

I wouldn't mind seeing ALL extremists dead, but I do not distinguish between Muslim, Christian, Jewish, atheist or others with that remark. And I do not believe we can start killing extremists, as we simply do not know who the real extremists are (if a Catholic priest rapes a kid people cry out for kicking out all priests, while only 99% of them are bad), and by killing at random we lower ourselves to their level, and create a new inquisition. People here got mad at an imam saying all enemies of the Islam should be killed, while ignoring the fact that most people are not, according to the Islam, enemies. Unless you prove yourself an enemy they are not allowed to attack you either. (This gets a bit unclear when there is a war going on btw, then it's more like 'Those who are not with us are against us') No different really than any country. Bush said the USA would hunt down all their enemies. Does that make him a fundamentalist? (Ignoring the fact that he is)

"...ignoring the fact that he is..." lol!

<twiddles fingers>

Bomb bomb bomb... bomb-bomb afghan!

The fight against terrorism is a fight against an unseen enemy. You have to catch him in the act, and by that time, it's too late. It's not like you can just walk up to somebody with a 9mm and say, "Are you a terrorist?"

How many ways can I say it? Fundamentalist Christians don't want to kill all Americans, conquer the world and convert everyone to radical Christianity. Fundamentalist Jews don't want to kill all Americans, conquer the world and convert everyone to radical Judaism. Fundamentalist atheists don't want to kill all Americans, conquer the world and convert everyone to radical atheism. Fundamentalist vegetarians . . .

But fundamentalist Muslims want to kill all Americans, conquer the world and convert everyone to radical Islam.

Open your eyes.

The KKK doesn't want to let those who oppose them live either, but they are more careful in what they say. Inquisition sound vaguely familiar to you?
There are Christian political parties here who want to force everyone to live according to the Bible, want to banish TV and the Internet, and want to illegalize all other religions (or lack of it). There are nuts allover the world, if you'd bother open _your_ eyes to more than just what you want to see you might notice that.

Ignoring the fact that those groups you speak of are very small and have no popular support, what I said was that they don't want to conquer the world, kill all Americans, and convert everyone to their religion be force. If you can't see that and insist upon clinging to your moral relativism like a safety blanket, there's nothing more I can do.

So you have a radical belief that all people with radical beliefs should be put down.......uhmmmmmmm.

😀

Why should it be??? There never has been a Palestinian state. Those territories were held by Jordan and Egypt prior to 1967. The Golan Heights was Syria. All were used as staging areas for Arab aggression. Israel has every right to them. Israel dropped the ball back in 1967 when it didn't deport all non-Israeli citizens.

The Arab nations have done nothing to help these people, why is it solely up to Israel?

That's an easy question to answer: Because the so-called "Palestinian" Arabs are being used as lackies by the Arab nations in a feable attempt to destroy Israel, which has been, since the beginning, their only goal.

Your opinion is void because it assumes two false suppositions:

1. The so-called "Palestinians" or Arabs want peace.

2. There will ever be peace so long as an Israeli state exists anywhere in the middle east.

Exactly. Yes, there are fundamentalist Christians, and Jews, and whatnot (and even fundamentalist Buddhists, for all I know..) However, fundamentalist Christians and Jews and Buddhists are not wearing explosives and walking into nightclubs, blowing up busses full of students, or flying fully loaded passenger jets into large buildings. Why is it so hard for Palestinian/Islamic apologists to accept my point of view:

Those who perform, support, and/or endorse suicide bombing should be exterminated.

Yes, you do have to find them, and that's not always easy. But that's beside the point. The other aspect to my point that goes ignored is the support and endorse.. In my opinion, both Saddam Hussain and the Saudi government qualify here, for paying money to the families of those who choose to blow themselves up to kill others.

Most extremists blow up stuff without endangering themselves, does that make them less dangerous? It means they can return to do it again. And the IRA/ETA doesn't just target the militairy, innocent citizens die too.

The Muslims who do it think they go to heaven, what do the Christians who do it think btw? If you think you go to heaven, and you know your family will receive money and support when you are dead, isn't it an easy way to take care of them, while securing your own future? That they're wrong in believing so doesn't chance that. Look at any US TV preacher or cult leader to see how easy people can be influenced when you tell them what they want to believe. Look at all the cult leaders who got their whole cult to commit suicide by telling them they'd go to heaven that way. The fundamentalist leaders know how people are, and will use that to their purpose.

Maybe we can get God, Allah, and Bush to have a summit and work out the rules differences.

...now if God and Allah would just return our phone calls 🙂

Actually sorry to say, but organized religion has been the cause of more pain suffering and death then ANY other reason on the planet, Amish is right. Thats fine if you want to belive in god, why not go out to a field and pray, the entire EARTH if created by God is a Temple itself, the entire thing... oh wait, why do you need to go any further then your heart and mind, if he "Created" you then your a temple yourself and look how big the mind is.... You guys need to really think about this stuff a lot further. If you can't find God in your OWN heart, you guys must be reacing for something that isn't there to begin with.

Well, actually, I'd say organized religion and organized politics are equals in the pain and suffering area. Look at Stalin's purges for the largest single example. In fact, Stalin's crimes outstrip any single religious atrocity by a wide margin.
