There are a lot of kids who had some pretty craptacular days made way better because of those donations.

The wish lists are still there, the hospitals can still use a lot more than they have.

You can go to an Amazon wish list for a hospital in your state, pick out some specific toys, and know that those toys will go to kids at that hospital. No middleman, no "fund raising expenses."

You => toys => hospital => kids who could really use something to brighten their day

Sort of . I can't accept donations but you can go to the http://www.childsplaycharity.org/ site and donate cash or paypal funds there instead of shopping for toys.

I do handle the shopping for the matching though.

And picking out some toys is fun, you might want to try it before going with cash.

Yeah, the shopping part is fun, imagining the kids getting the toys. I was in the hospital overnight as a toddler and since my parents weren't allowed to stay they got me a "Little Engine that Could" picture book to keep me company

If you end up not being able to afford to donate this year, then don't. We do what we can but you have to take care of yourself too.

Do the cash donations go for toys?

Yep, the cash gets divided up across all the hospitals. Last time I checked they did not have a way for you to donate to just one specific hospital.
