So if there is only 1 winner in Maryland, the state will take in almost $36M in tax (7.75% of $462M cash option).

Since there is a winner, let Vivi decides what to do with the $52. He could take the whole thing or give it to charity.

It was fun while it lasted. I will check the 6 tickets I bought on my own.

Just catching up with the thread this morning. A bummer that we didn't win but there is always next time. Thanks to Vivi for doing the running this. Give the money to charity or letting Vivi keep it for the leg work. I'm good with either option.

I like the idea of either a $10 or $20 buy in for the next lotto pool.

yes, this is what worries me. That....and we might end up proving xBiffX correct, which would be disastrous for many egos around here...



anyway, there was a story earlier this week about a liquor shop in Oakland that has previously sold, I think, 5 or 7 jackpot tickets. The line for that place was around the block Monday and Wednesday.

But let me say now--if we do choose the next pool to be in a place like CA with no state tax, zinfamous is not walking into Oakland with 4k in cash and/or 4k lottery tickets.

What? and all those years I thought ATOTers are MMA/muythai/karate/all world hand to hand combat experts.

On the serious side, there are other states with no tax on lottery such as Penn, Texas, Delaware, Florida, New Hamshire, S. Dakota, Tenn, and Washington state.

I don't mind to go and pick the tickets up in Texas but I ain't going to do all the data entry stuffs.
