It's the damndest thing that >50% of marriages here end in divorce... what happened to the days when divorce was only used in the absolute worst cases (abuse, cheating)? Now it seems that if a couple goes through a bad patch they turn to divorce as the immediate answer. Is this specific to just to US or is it universal to the western world (Europe, North America)? Back in the motherland (India) divorce is more of a taboo than anything. It's changing now, but divorce rates among Indian families are still low. It's a sad fact that people turn to contracts like prenups to guarantee their future. It almost makes marriage a business venture rather than a lifelong union. BTW, i'm neither married nor engaged. I'm just making an observation based on what I see of so many married couples.

Of course! The problem with real ones is that i tend to loose one each formal. For some reason girls seam to love to run off home with them. 😀
