We are going to land this plane on the ocean!

LOL. Oops.

Heard mid flight on another airliner: "This is the captain speaking, we're now cruising at 35 thousand feet and...oh SCHITT!"
Long silence, then finally :"Sorry folks, while making that announcement I spilled hot coffee on myself. You should see the front of my pants!"
One of the passengers yelled "That's nothing, you should see the back of mine!"

😀

I like how this happened at 3am. Nothing like a startling announcement while sleeping.

Oh, and kudos on the 1st grade misspelling of "PLANE"

Why do they even have a taped recording like this? Do their planes go down so often that they made a recording to save time?

My guess is to prevent an announcement that might sound like this:

"HOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY SHIT I HOPE THERE'S A FUCKING TREADMILL DOWN THERE!!!!"

I just don't understand people (especially women) who scream and panic in every possible situation. If I heard this, of course I would be concerned, but I wouldn't throw a fit about it. When I found out it was a mistake, I'd be happy.

If they announced there was a bomb on the plane, you'd probably shit your pants.

Actually you'd join them and panic or just freeze. Not knocking you, but that is typical behavior. Few would act immediately, those are the ones who live.

Thank you boy scouts for preparing me.

Good thing Francesco Schettino wasn't the captain he would have bailed as soon as he heard the warning.
