I am so jealous.

I've always wanted to see the south pacific.

If you guys were as old as me you would have been inundated with a ton of images of this part of the world in your early TV viewing. This is possibly because so many vets from WWII controlled the networks in the 60s, and those that fought in that theater found the south pacific to be a very beautiful and exotic place.

Aren't you retiring? Come along!

Don't tempt me. I have a very low threshold for self-gratification.

There are few better ways to celebrate a retirement. 😉

I have to try it. It may be gross, but some people I know really like it. And it's illegal to import, so bringing some back is my only hope.

Oh, buy some wool. New Zealand is Merino wool country, the best wool on earth..

My wife and I flew to New Zealand and got married back in November. Just be careful.. you might not come back 😉

You don't get that choice. The long arm of the law in New Zealand won't let you stay. They control immigration very tightly.

24 days? Bah, I did a similar cruise and took 6 months to do it. It was free too. Let me know and I can tell you where to sign up... 😉

I did that one also don't do it😛

My girlfriend spent 3 weeks in NZ on a business trip in late February and she didn't want to come back home. Since it was a business trip, they didn't have a lot of daylight time to really cut loose but she did get to enjoy a couple weekends there. She was blown away with just the outdoor environment there. They visited the family of a coworker and she said the back yard was full of ripe avocado trees, macadamia nut trees, olive trees, citrus, etc. And just tons and tons of exotic plants. Of course, they were there in summer so I'm not sure how active that stuff will be when you guys go.

She also really enjoyed the markets there, both food and material goods. But of all of the things she enjoyed the most, it was the food. I'm not sure of the location, but I know that for dinner one night, they ate at a rotating restaurant up on this tower/needle. She took photos of her meals (she's funny like that) and some of the plates were amazing looking.

Oh, they also had a great time snorkeling in Auckland (I think it was there) but I'm not sure the water will be warm enough in October. One of her coworkers had to be taken to the ER after being slammed into some rocks and dislocating his shoulder.

I'm jealous of you guys. Have a great time and take lots of photos! Sounds like an amazing trip.

Congrats guys! Have a great time and be safe.

We'll have Chiboy "taken care of" by the time you get back 😉.

Where are my heavy duty trash bags and shovel........

That sounds amazing - congrats to you both!

My wife got a great deal on a mini-cruise for us - it's just a 3 night cruise on RC, but RC sent us a $500 off coupon, so it ended up $89 for the both of us. We have to drive down but it's only about 5.5 hours for us, not too bad.
