WD1600YS-01SHB0 Vista 64-bit Driver

I just purchased a new hard drive to install Vista 64-bit Home Premium. The hard drive is a Western Digital WD1600YS-01SHB0 SATA.

I have no problem booting from the DVD to install the 64-bit Vista.

I get up to the "Where do you want to install Vista?" screen. Unfortunately, the hard drive does not appear and I have the option to "Load Driver". Where can I find the driver? Can someone send me a link to the exact location? I looked on the WD web site, but couldn't find it.

Thanks in advance for the help.

System:
Motherboard: ASUS A8N-SLI Premium
CPU: AMD 4800+
RAM: 4Gb Corsair Value Select
HD: Western Digital WD1600YS-01SHB0 SATA

If you need any more information, please do not hesitate to ask, I'll be happy to answer.

You probably need drivers for your SATA controller. If in the BIOS your drives are set to AHCI or RAID instead of IDE, you will need a drive for your SATA controller.

Thanks. I moved from the red SiG SATA bank to the black NV SATA bank and it started working... Something going on with the red ports...

Yeah, either malfunctioning or Windows just doesn't have drivers for that controller by default.
