so it's just the external case that's clear? If the actual hard drive was clear, then I'd be interested :)

Any of you guys see that Maximum PC issue where the "Featured Case Mod" was a guy who, in addition to case mods, had MODDED HIS HD so that it had a clear window with LEDs inside? That was insane.

I'm not sure if you can actually see the disks spinning or not, now that would be pretty cool.

It's just a drive in a clear external case. Like half of everything has been since the iMac fashion caught on. Cept this is clear, not just translucent.

If they sold, say, an 80 gig internal that had clear casing and LEDs inside for $150 I'd buy it in a flash... (if I had the dough :( )

That'd look so cool, you'd be able to see the platters and the heads working!

Yeah, that's what I was hoping for. And how about a tiny LED on the tip of the read head too?

Psssh Thats nothing, check this

Wow, that's cool. That was what I was thinking of :). Looks like a LOT of work and I'd probably mess up so I wouldn't ever try it on a drive that was worth anything. And I don't have the tools/supplies.

WD or some company should start making some :). So what if it's only for a small niche market, it'd rock!
