This deals just average,
but if you want this drive "Right Now"
it might be Hot.
WD Hard drive IN STOCK
It's about $20 higher from the WD store online.
OEM drive for both.
😉
EDIT: Only found one place on PriceWatch,
but PriceGrabber has 9 places listed & most are a little cheaper.
Sorry😱

7pair, I have used this drive against a rather average Seagate Barracuda IV. When you are xferring large file you'll see a difference, but not in eveyday applications. I was dissapointed and went back to the trusty silent Seagates.

I just did this deal at Dell using the 50 off 400 and the 10% off...this included free next day shipping:

Edit: The description at Dell says these are Retail drives, but they may not actually be retail....I'll call and b!tch to them if they aren't!

I think i would pay the not even $30 more and get another 120 gig 8 meg. Who has even heard of a 80 gig model. And if you all have checked www.storagereview.com you will see that the 100 gig model is slower that the 120 gig model. So let me guess. This one will be even slower.

No thank you.

My WD1200JB got delayed again from Dell. 🙁 I caved in and spent $10 more to get it local at mwave (their prices dropped again, yay). So add tax and shipping where appropriate to a base price of $179 and it's not so bad. $20 less for the 80, not worth it IMO.

Press Release on Anandtech
"I have used this drive"
😕The press release was Tax Day. (April 15th)
You probably used one of it's sister drives 100gb/120gb.

I actually pointed out the drive because it was just 80gb.

Partition Magic 7.? says that it supports drives up to 80gb.
What if a 120gb drive is divided into multiple partitions?
Is it an actual drive limit or partition limit?

Once more people have this one, I'm sure it will drop after
adding coupons and such.

If you happen to have a good answer to the Partition Magic question,
feel free to post it under "Tech Support" and link it here.
😉
