I've upgraded both my CPU and bought a 8800GTX, is it worth the money buying a raptor? Who owns one? How significant is the difference?

I don't think it's worth it with one raptor, but if they're in raid 0 I'm pretty sure there's a big diffrence.

everybody who owns one that I have talked with Love the Raptor!!

You really cannot take the word of the people who say to you - when the price drops I will buy one!!!

Unless you onterpret that to mean -- YES it worth it!! If I had the money I would buy one!!! :D

The differences are marginal when you compare a 74/150 Raptor to a fast 7200RPM drive. I recently sold my 74GB Raptor since my 320GB 7200.10 'feels' just as fast in the apps/games on my rig. The 7200.10 has quieter seeks and I now have 4 times the space.

I got one, it's ok, *shrug*.

I'd rather have a couple of those new 320GB Seagates in RAID-1.

ya but your 320GB 7200.10 will never have the access times of the raptor you got rid of. And that goes for any 7200RPM drive.
