WD HD and EPoX 8RDA+

Can't get hard drive to recognize properly. I've heard about a 'IDE cable cut' fix. Can anyone elaborate how exaclty to do this and describe what problem it fixed for them?

is the WD hard drive you have new for this system?

you probably want to set it to cable select instead of master. i found out that it doesnt recognize as a single master.

Check NesuD's report here, it should be just the info you're looking for The other thing to do, if you haven't already, is try the single-drive jumper setting if the drive is a single drive.

And yet other posts indicate that WD only works when NOT cable select, and you should remove the jumper to get single or master.
