WD Caviar Green 2TB SATA $99 after rebate

Hah, already up to $109 AR 😀

I told myself I'd upgrade my NAS when 2TB hit $99 a pop...in a couple more months I think I'm gonna be in trouble, haha.

Stills shows $99 for me when I click the link through the email that CompUSA sent out.

Tack on Bing Cash Back too.

It's showing up at $99 here.

I'm stunned they can offer it for that. The biggest hard drive WD makes, and it's only worth $100... 😱

damn.. I shouldn't have bought that 1TB F3 for $70, I just store videos for occasional viewing mostly..
This would have been perfect 🙁

It works if you copy/paste that link. It's the dynamitedata script that is removing the $10 discount.

anyone have good feedback about this drive, if you check newegg reviews not to great, but the 750gb green drive i have is totally fine and decently fast, got it for 50 bux on woot.com along time back

I just picked this up from compusa for $74.39 + $4.44 shipping (no tax in CA)

$139.99 - $10 (coupon code) - $40 (MIR) - $15.60 (12% bing)

3.7 cents per GB. Are you kidding me?

howd you do that, it doesnt work with bing. is there some secret way to do it.

Upon testing at Circuit City I don't see the "Bing Warning" like at TD?

EDIT: same at CompUSA

I tested it at both CompUSA and Circuit City and did see the warning. I clicked the Bing link and then searched for the drive, the warning came up on both sites.

It worked last night. I went to CompUSA through Bing and searched on WD20EARS. I applied the $10 coupon from another site. I didn't see anything saying that Bing wouldn't work, and after ordering I got my email from Bing with the 12%.

I didn't do anything special.

Same here, Bing shows pending. Thanks o.p., snagged one.

Reading reviews, I saw suggestions that the speed is 'secret' between 5400 and 7200, and one or more said the speed varies.

silentpcreview actually did some tests with a sound meter to measure the frequencey of the sound and its always 5400.

western digital honestly is terrible for advertising 7200 anywhere in the documentation given they have never put out a true 7200 green drive (which is why they claim 5400 to 7200 for the entire green line not a particular drive)

hmm maybe I'll wait, my original plan was I'll bite when 2TB is less than $90.00.

As aiyana mentioned, price is $79 if you're in a no tax state and if Bing goes through. I don't see how the price gets much lower short term, unless WD is revamping the prices of their entire green line below 2TB. Nothing wrong with the drive either, just know how to configure (e.g. jumper) if going into a 2003, WHS, or XP machine.
