WD Caviar Black 1TB spins up with a small "whine"?

Just got this new WD Caviar Black 1TB drive. I noticed that when I first power it on, there's small whine as the motor spins up to speed. I never heard anything like it with my WD 500GB drive. Is it normal?

Nither of the two I have had / have whined and run pretty quite....

The one that dies just gave out with no sign other than WinXP just froze..

I would try sending a load of data to it to see how it does, mine died right after I moved 200-300 gig to it...

I'm copying my 500GB drive to the 1TB right now. So far so good, the Vista is still running OK.

That quick whine only happens when from power off to power on state. During the operation, the drive is very quiet. Of course, I can only hear it because I had the case open. If I had the case closed, I can't even hear much of anything.
