I read that the new Western Digital 2Tb drive has 4 platter's making each one 500Gb. Have the 500Gb drives such as the 5000aaks been reworked into single platter configuration yet or when will this happen? Is that what they call their Cavilier Black drive?
 
I don't think they have released single platter 500GB units yet.
Right now, they use 2 320GB platters for the 640 Black units.
