There's a 250 GB review @ StorageReview. The WD in the review is a different model SATA II with more cache.

Yeah....even if you put two of them into a Raid-0 config, SATA-1 bandwidth exceeds the throughput on the combined drives......

I've been thinking of getting a 200+GB drive... after reading the review, think I'll pickup a Samsung Spinpoint...low heat and noise are key for me...and the only snipe it got was low game performance, which isn't critical for me. $99 shipped from allstarshop.com or $102 from newegg.com

Yeah, "SATA 2" on current hdds is mostly a marketing gimmick. Even the fastest SATA drive in existance, the new 150gig raptor doesnt have "SATA 2".
Note that I'm speaking for hdds only. Its a good idea to have "SATA 2" on mobos because you'll need it for future generation hdds.
Whereas I've seen a noticible increase in speed when using a 16 meg seagate SATA drive compared to a 8 meg seagate SATA drive (all same model line and eveyrthing else, only differance was the cache).

WD has not implemented NCQ on their SATAII drives.....a heads up for those who care.

NCQ generally seems to be a wash or actually reduces performance in most single user applications from the reviews I've seen. And although many power users consider them selves to be more in the multiuser category because they might run a couple apps at once, they almost never are.

Right on, think about this. The fastest non SCSI drive in the world is the 150 GB Raptor and it is Sata 150. BTW most drives run faster with NCQ turned off in a single user (I.E. non-server) machine.

I would not trust TechOnWeb. I tried ordering from them before, they don't update their site, and they pull bait and switches with their pricing. They did cancel my order though.
