Microcenter has this drive for $264.
link
BB has $120 MIR's for this drive starting today
link
$264 - $120 = $144
you can try PM 110% or use coupon

Thanks for the info, I bought this drive on 1/3. Looks like I'll be re-visiting them for my rebate goodness.

Uhh, BB's original price on the drive is $350. I don't think you'll be able to PM to $264 and use the $120 BB MIRs.

I wouldn't even waste the time or gas money trying to pricematch anything at BB. There's a reason they are known as Worst Buy around here. Worst costumer service ever, and some rude ass cashiers.

They had a deal like this before for the 120 gb 8 mb cache WD drives and we ended up getting the drives for $50 after rebate. Of course, it was a price mistake on the WD drive. Microcenter advertised the 8 mb cache drive and the 2 mb cache drive was the one on sale. I'm going to say YMMV because some BB managers will give you some crap about this PM. If your assertive though, you should be able to get this deal.

Ok, I haven't done a PM at best buy before, but generally it doesn't matter with rebates, unless you have a really anal CSR, The rebate just prints out at the register, so they price adjust for you, then the rebate prints out, and they can't take it back, it is worth a shot, I'm not going to do it because it is an online price and they will charge me overnight shipping but if you have one near you I say go for it. Remember to be nice, they don't owe you this deal, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar, but if that doesn't work, I like the line "Ok, thanks for your time, I'm just gonna run across the street and buy the drive there." The individual store manager is not losing the money for the rebate, esp if it is a MFR MIR, so while he won't like to give a large PM, he isn't out as much as you think.

I wasn't planning on it, but I just bought one of these at BB. They would not PM microcenter, however they did PM Compusa.

AND.......
the rebates that printed out were one for $40 and one for $100. That's $140 in rebates, not the $120 as advertised.

$299.99 pm to compusa

$140.00 less rebates

$159.99 + tax. Not too shabby.

Btw, I was also able to get the Maxtor 120GB 8MB cache PM'd at BB to compusa price:

$179.99 pm to compusa

$50.00 less rebate

$129.99 + tax.

These deals are pretty good, but not "nuclear" hot. However, I still have 60 days to find BVG opportunities.;)

One reason could be that there is no local Microcenter but a CompUSA.
I think they have something about local competitors in their PM policy. Most stores do, but depending on your CSR/Manager they pm anyway, or don't, for that matter.

Depends where you are Dallas has a local MicroCenter.

Ok if you PM BB! Buy item at register full price. Goto your car dump the drive/rebates. Take the original reciept to the service center. Have them PM there. If you try to PM at register it takes a long time gotta call a manager who will usually shoot you down, and they usually only do 100% PM. At service desk you got the service emplyees people running the show and they should do 110% PM, as it is posted nearby in every store I've seen.

What is the reason they PM Compusa but not MC?

Actually, there is a MC very close by, and they weren't real clear when they"tried" to explain it to me.

I may still go back and try again with a different csr. Or with a different csr at a different BB B&M. ;) I just figured I was gonna end up using bvg anyway, so the biggie was the $140 in rebates! If not, AMEX will just have to be responsible for that extra $35. :Q

Plus, the last time I went to this particular BB they were refusing to pm anything that had a rebate (what a load of bs), so I was a little surprised they even agreed to pm compusa.

And it was the last one on the shelf!

Thanks. I will give it a try. I have both Compusa and MC near by.

I've had trouble getting the 10% coupon + price match also. Rebates are always fine to combine though...

Usually, the PM is cheaper than the coupon and that's why I'm stuck with the coupon (See my thread asking about what else can I use it for...). This is an awesome deal but I just got in on the 100GB SE deal ($56.XX after 10% coupon, PM, MIR).

Thanks for the HOT deal... couldn't get it to work w/ MC, but worked nicely w/ CompUSA.

PM CompUSA down to 299.99
Add on the 10% off coupon
Plus tax (6%)

Sub-Total: 286.19
Minus $140 in Rebates

Total: 146.19

Great price for the drive. Just one regret: they said that their was no MC near by, but after looking at their website, their IS a MC but about 50 miles away.. haha.. gonna go back and try my case. But i'm satisfied w/ what I've got doesn't matter either way.

Guys I hate to "beat the dead horse" and hassle - but seriously - the 140$ in rebates where are they from?

Like I said I got mine from "microcentre" or something - the guys doing 256$ for drive, with 65$ rebate - can I apply another 40 or 100$ rebate to the disk?

thanks again

EDIT:
This is the one I've purchased
This is the re-bate PDF file

Total cost 220$ US delivered after taxes etc - I'd love to think I can apply another re-bate to it (damn I thought 220$ US for 200gb was a nice price too?!?!?!)

Both the rebates are offered by best buy. One $100 and one $40.

This seems great. I'm going to try both the PM and 10% tomorrow. I could really use another 200GB.
