WD 160GB, 8MB $89 - $30 MIR = $59 @ fry's B&M

Cool. Will check it out on my way home. Like I was once told:

1) Your processor is never fast enough
2) You never have enough memory
3) Your drive is never big enough

wth... one post? did every one take a vacation or some thing? 😀

Any way, here's more detail

$30 mail in is from WD not frys
rebate is up to TWO per customer
Ending 7/1

Don't know if it's national, but the store I went is Fremont store, so all Bay Area stores for sure will have the same price.

Okay, then it's in B&M only. The rebate shows frys and outpost.

Those are IDE drives, not SATA. But you can use a IDE to SATA kit to make it SATA. I purchased along with the AMS SATA convertion kit. Those works really good with my current raid system. Has a very shiny blue LED in the back.

Ditto...looks like $79.99 AR...maybe this is B&M Fry's...gonna go to Fry's tonite and check it out...

Online with Outpost the drive is $109 - $30MIR= $79+ shipping. Still warm though not HOT

It looks like several of us were ready to jump on this online!!!!

Went there over the weekend (Fremont) and saw a whole stack of it
Didn't bother picking up one because I'm sure a better deal is just right around the corner even when I don't need one. 😉

does the rebate specify fry's? might be an opportunity for a pricematch and additional savings, especially if buying 2.

I've had no problems with Fry's rebates... bought a WD Hard Drive last year and received the rebate ($40) in the time they said (it was many weeks). I'm not a huge fan of MIR's though, but $59 is pretty good if you don't mind waiting.

aww and i just got the CompUSA deal ($80 after instant rebate) yesterday for the Maxtor 160gb.....hey atleast it was an instant rebate....i'm happy 🙂

This ended on 6/29- the rebate was good through 7/1, but they hiked the price the day after this post was made.

Stick a fork in this deal, but wait for friday's july 4th ad, it will probably have a new maxtor 160gb deal in it (based on the four huge palettes of them their sunnyvale store brought out yesterday.)

I was at the Fry's in M.B., CA yesterday and noticed that they seemed to be stocking up on some of the popular large drive models by Hitachi, SG, and Maxtor too! I sure hope that's indicative of some good deals that may await us this wknd!
