Awesome Peter, thank you!

Glad to see us making a good push on this - fun times!

I am also seeing some personal best on production with a couple extra rigs/GPUs in the mix - my Q6700 rig froze up last night, reminding me of why I wasn't using it for crunching 🙁 It's 6770 is too powerful to let sit for the race though, so I'll be bouncing it as needed through out the race. I've even cut it back to 50% CPU max...

Just finished diagnostics, the cpu's are about to burn out if I don't shut them down in the next 2-3 hours. 🙁 And must leave them off for 24 hours so I can't crunch..... 🙁 Anyway uptime for one of them is 7540.8 hours and the other 240.2 hours....... I think it beats the record for most turned on computer. 😀
Thanks for the stats

Better shut those lappies down Kiska! 😱

Thanks for the sTAts, Peter! 😎

Great job everyone!! 😛

Looks like it's not just SETI@home having problems during a race, since a post by one of the WCG-admins showed-up a couple hours ago:
Greetings all,

We are currently running low on work for Help Conquer Cancer. At the moment of posting this we have about 1 hour of work left to send on the grid. We are running through many work units per day as you may already know and we are working with the researchers to get more work units onto the grid as soon as possible.

Normally we would slow a project down to help keep the project running on the grid. But this solution will not work since it is our only GPU project. So, to keep things fair between CPU and GPU we have decided to keep the weight normal until we run out of work.

This is not the end of the project, we are low on work from the researchers.

Thank you for your participation and patience as we get more work for Help Conquer Cancer. Please let me know if you have any questions.

-Uplinger

This will be interesting for the teams that rely on GPU work to get that big fat score. Looks like the last leg of the race and how far we get, will be determined by the number of CPU cores. MOAR CORES! To borrow a picture commonly found on the CPU forum:

Laptops are cooled down sufficient enough and have started to crunch again. Will do more than 24 hours after race finishes

CPU power is where I personally fair better - and I think as a team we are generally CPU competitive.

We are going to see some ppd titans fall, that's for sure!

I came into this thread just to see what the GPU situation was, I was hoping it wasn't just me!

Both laptops are in after cooling down but 90 WU Error'd out and now I am replenishing the queue. I have 1 GPU and 3 CPU cores in.

Thanks for the stats Peter! I wonder if our step back is due to the lack of GPU WUs.

they've been creeping up for awhile

I don't like creeps! They are, uh, creepy. Unless we all suffer massive hardware failure, looks like we're holding #10 at the very least. PUSH!

Is the race ending at the beginning of the day or the end of the day (i.e. 11/22 12AM or 11/22 11:59pm)? Just wanted to know when to resume my other projects. Thanks.

We are now #9, but #10 and 11 have a chance to overtake us - if they have collected (but not sent in) results.
It is also a close and intense race between #14, #15, #16, #17 and #18.

Our daily production has dropped dramatically, probably because the absence of GPU-WUs. Please continue crunching and add more CPU-cores for the last day!

Since I've set my buffer for WUs for 5 days, I have quite a few GPU-WUs left and I hope that my production will not dropp too much. We should be able to defend our position since most crunchers do not change their buffer settings in the BOINC-manager and that setting does not create a large enough buffer for a 5-day race.
I feel 🙁, because I should have proposed to all TeAm-racers to set their buffers high enough ...

The 7 Clean energy project WU I just sent in might be enough to keep us in 9th place. Hopefully I just hope that all the error'd out WU don't deduct our score
