The 290x is right around the same performance as the 970. So 300-350 should be fine for it.

I don't know, considering the performance/watt differential and nVidia continuing to raise the bar with gaming experience features, imho.

It's like nVidia doing a 4870 on AMD!

When price is equal AMD cant compete. I like AMD but even if the power consumption were the same I would still take the Nvidia.

I really hope the 970 will not be 300. Why? Because I was not planning to upgrade until 20nm and a 970@300 would pull my pants down, lol.

I'll be very happy if the price/performance is as good as I have been reading about. I was just a hour or two from buying a sapphire vapor x r9 290 until someone said wait a week.

The 980 is the card for me, the 970 looks nice and the sweet spot but performance coming from a 2gb 770 isn't even big enough to make me even consider it. Damn shame cause the 970 looks really to be the gpu to go for.

I've got mine on eBay, 1 bid so far so it'll sell for at least $180. I bought mine almost a year ago for $329, after $10 rebate and selling the bundled games for $40, net cost was $289. If I can get at least $200, it was worth it.

Looking to get myself the 970, hopefully I'll catch one in stock.

If Evga didn't just send me 2 brand new free 770 SC ACX Sli via Rma, I would be ordering 2 of those 970's next week. I haven't even had these 770's for 3 weeks yet!!!

The 970/980 look great, very efficient and all those SMX units is crazy(13/16 SMX units) I compared the 970/980GTX to my 770 Sli in Firestrike and the 980GTX still isnt as fast as my 770 Sli! I was really hoping this would be the series card I could finally give up Sli, guess I'll wait and see what they drop in the market next year.

Just sold with Buy It Now for $250. $40 hit in a year? Not bad... ^_^

I always use the buy it now when I sell. Most of the time I sell whatever I have on there within 1 hour. I actually made a little money on my 770 even after shipping and fees.

so the NDA is up in just a few more minutes. so much for going to bed early...

Meh, most of the aftermarket 970s are 400 euro at the moment (Strix, G1..)
I hope prices will settle down and resemble US levels during next week..

$329. Much lower than I expected.

I checked Newegg.com at 6:00 Eastern time, and they had a few models in stock for the list price. They're not showing anything available now at 7:20.
