Haha, ok, usually when i play slots i get maybe 1 drink every hour and a half, guess it's all about location location location. I was really looking forward to westward ho 🙁 oh well. I think i'm going to write down every single tip in here to make sure I still get to have a great time!!!

We're not goin to vegas broke, we just don't wanna spend much.... like most ppl here in the anandtech forums :-D

Go to the sportsbook at Monte Carlo. Put $5 on something. They'll usually come around every 20 mins or so. You might want to get beer since the drinks are watered down.

it's hot as balls

so sit by the pool for 12 hours

alternatively play poker for 18 hours (like me), paying for your booze and subsidizing the trip

That's what I did. I entered in a 200 dollar buy in. In August I can imagine Las Vegas hitting near 120F. It's an oven.

It's a dry heat. Honestly, I went in August before and it wasn't THAT bad.

Sports Bar on the 2nd flr of Harrah's has Chimay. Sit at the bar, play $1.50 of video poker and get comped🙂

Klondike Inn.

It's like the southmost hotel on The Strip (and probably the whole city). I stayed there for a night a couple years back. After a coupon from a gas-station tour pamphlet, it was $39.95 for a room with 3 King Size beds (one in its own separate room), 2 free breakfasts, 2 free dinners, and 2 free drinks at the bar. And that was the weekend rate. $34.95 for weekdays. Split that between 3 people= Vegas on the Cheap.

If you trust those Dateline type shows...then you know that all hotel rooms and sheetsets are dirty. Why waste the money? I didn't catch anything there and the mattress was pretty comfy. Of course I'd been sleeping on a camping pad or a picnic bench for many nights up until Vegas, so I guess my standards were low.

Get more people in your group if you can. I went with a bunch of my recent college graduate friends and there are perks with large groups. After getting into Tryst, Body English, and Tangerine.. the hotel room.. the car rental.. the alk0hol.. total came out to $75 for the weekend. And I covered that cost at poker 🙂
