Sort of excited for the shield, so this way my friend and I can both play steam game on full PC's while being in the same room. (He would be playing on living room computer attached to living room PC, I would be playing on my computer on my shield over the network)

I was wondering if the actual shield apk would be available to use on any android device, so i could possibly use it with a nexus 7 or something.

Then i though to myself - all i really need to do is have my android tablet act as a mirrored monitor, and just play games with the 360 controller that is already paired with my computer (works from pretty far away).

Is this possible? I know they used to have something like it when people would post videos of them playing crysis on their eeepc's, by basically doing what im asking for - but on android. (So main pc would be doing all the work, and it would just be shown on the other screen)

Hopefully this is somehow possible on android, but if not - what program would be able to do this for windows? Obviously im looking for something that doesnt have much lag.

Any ideas?

If I understand the post correctly and you are speaking of remote controlling a Windows PC from Android, there are some Android apps that support RDP (remote desktop). Just make sure you have that enabled on your Windows PC and you should be able to connect. Whether RDP is really good enough to do something demanding like letting you stream Crysis to your Android, I am not sure, though.

Many games do not work well with RDP because the remote session is rendered by a different driver than your GPU.
