Way to send free sms on computer to cell phone

I remember years ago there was a website at freesms.com that could send free text messages to cell phones.

Well years later I got another Nokia cell phone [on tracphone network] and that sites down. I can get text messages for free, but have to pay to send, so a service like this would be great.

Does anyone else know of any free text messaging websites? Are any around anymore?

I'm with Sprint, and if I log into the Sprint website, there's a page that lets me send text messages to anyone. Maybe your provider has the same thing?

Edit: All of iamme's links require that you know what service the recipient uses. Sprint's can send to anyone, although you have to be a Sprint user yourself to use it.

Edit 2: Sprint's website Actually that's not the case. Sprint's publically accessible text messaging page can send to anyone. Just click the text messaging link at the bottom.

you can send an sms to any phone from your pc. An sms is simply an email. Do you want to send an SMS to a tracphone? If not, what provider? I can help.

My TracFone doesnt. When I go to open it, it says "0.0 units decucted". Im on the prepay.

EDIT: I havent had a cell phone for years, still trying to figure out all the costs and stuff lol

I am just going to stop posting in threads that I can actually help. I think its better just to spew worthless and uninformed opinions like everyone else in this thread.
