Way to go safety person @ work

I guess it's fine considering no one got exposed to anything so it just said NO NO NO NO NO under everyone's name....

Except when I looked closer it says NAME: SSN:.... way to e-mail out everyone's SSN number genius.

Why does a safety person need the SSN or even have that data? Use a company-wide unique ID system, leave the SSN data to HR.

This used to happen pretty frequently where I worked until we printed out the SS# of the worst offenders and slapped them on their office doors. For some reason, they didn't like that.

They used to encourage group suggestions. Everyone had to sign the back of the form and write down their SS#. My boss never figured out why I consistently refused to participate. I even gave him several hints. He never figured it out.

Seriously. We're a small company too. All you need to keep track of is name and radiation exposure data. Why SSN is in there I do not understand.

I already thought this e-mail was a bit fishy.

- Why would you send out radiation exposure info on everyone. I suppose they wanted to show off that no one got exposed in the last period which is cool. I was expecting dosage numbers in millirems but it was just a YES or NO so I suppose this makes it more ok to release names because it's NOs across the board.
- Wouldn't you check what you're sending out? I caught the SSNs within 15 seconds of reading this document. I checked mine to make sure it's correct so that these ARE actually SSNs.

Time to go chat with this person because I need a new radiation badge for a new x-ray tool I just installed. We'll see what they say.

Maybe if you weren't a jihadist, handling radioactive material all the time, you would have an argument. However, you must be so I fail to see any breach of rights here.

my ssn is scattered far and wide due to government work. there's no hope of ever having it contained.

Example: The university I attended knew your SSN if you were on financial aid, employed by the university, etc. But you were assigned a uniqueID# as well as a separate studentID#. SSN data should never be required/used unless it HAS to be.

Wow that's brutal. They should really use a company based ID system... I would complain to hire ups about their process. Not right that they are sending out emails like this, whether it's on purpose or by accident.
