wax in a usb port....

anyway to get it out?

i have a lian li with top mounted usb/firewire and my son left a candleburning on top. the wax dripped into a usb port.

any easy way to remove it?

Electrical contact cleaner should melt it rite off. I'd turn the case upside down, and douse it liberally (with it unplugged, of course).

Warning: Electrical contact cleaner can melt some plastics.
 
welp, upon further inspection, it's the 1394.

maybe the hair dryer is the best bet...
 
Yep, I use my hairdryer when I'm sleeving cables and want to finish the ends neatly with heat shrink tubing. So I assume it's not going to hurt the connectors.
 
Scrape off as much as you can using a thin flat tip jewelers' screw driver. Then place it upside down and use the hair dryer. Of course, with the unit unplugged.
