Wave gun at car, get shot

Why? I own guns, and am responsible. Now, at the moment none are loaded. But it doesn't matter.

Please explain how I am being irresponsible in any way by owning guns.

It's like owning a non-venomous snake. It's more responsible than owning a venomous one.

Owning a venomous snake is irresponsible, owning a lion / bear is irresponsible, owning a gun + ammunition is irresponsible, owning a nuclear weapon is irresponsible.

Owning a car (with gasoline..) is irresponsible. You could kill somebody man!

If you don't have the means to care for a venomous snake, a lion or a bear I agree, it is irresponsible to own one. If one has the means to care for such a creature, one could responsibly care for one.

Like they had the means to care for Dinosaurs in Jurassic Park?

Did it ever occur to you that a lot of us come here to socialize? This is not debate team, at least in off topic (usually). We're all having a good time and then someone like you comes in and takes things seriously, knowingly posting inflammatory opinions and otherwise pissing people off all in the bullshit name of theoretically "improving yourself". If you did this IRL the group you intruded on would first tell you off, then ditch you if you persisted. What you're doing is the equivalent of physically following said group around town as they try to ditch you while chirping at their heels about your rejected opinions. In short, you're being annoying, knowingly so. That makes you a troll and an asshole regardless of your stated intentions.

However, because this is an internet forum with fairly lenient moderators, we can't shout you down or ditch you. You're free to come here and submit your arguments to what is effectively a permanent record, which we then have to annoyingly scroll through and skim to carry on a more on-point conversation. This is known as thread derailment, a type of trolling.

And I know you say you're here to learn from people and argue. Bullshit. If you were arguing you would have acknowledged that an impasse in values and ideas had been reached, neither side was going to change and you would move on. Same story with the "learning". Sure in theory you could stick around and scrape the residue of knowledge off the bottom of the barrel, but by and large we have walked you through the same points repeatably on an excruciatingly elementary level. In a nutshell, you've got all you're going to get from us factually on this issue. Why are you still here?

It's attention and control. You like people paying attention, even negative attention to your points with the added control of those people not being able to ditch you when they disagree.

And you're not as anonymous as you think. I bet you're one of the people in this vid: http://www.youtube.com/user/neckarb#p/a/u/2/hcpoUV7rSqc
I'm betting you're the cameraman here: http://www.youtube.com/user/neckarb#p/a/u/1/xlt78wyyDss So now I know what your voice sounds like.

Channel fits age, former screename and nationality. Took me 30 seconds on google.

I think you nailed it exactly. Especially considering he would be right at home if he just went one forum down to P&N where there are plenty of people that take life too seriously and always want to argue. The problem is that his attention share would be diluted there. I don't know why the mods allow him to run rampant in OT posting clearly political threads. That was a really stellar post though irishScott. If he acted like this in an actual public place, he would be laughed at, made fun of and ditched, and if he persisted, he would get his ass beaten. I think you're exactly right in that he loves being able to force himself on others, probably due to the fact that no one can stand him in real life.

Regardless, thanks for the post. You've inspired me to add the first person EVER to my Ignore List: HAL9000. It's the virtual equivalent of ditching him.

None of this has anything to do with owning a gun.

There's a part in that quote that says "gun"... Re-read it.

I doubt it.

Example, of how you can't equate for every eventuality.

P.S. Look how I replied to three posts in one post! :O

I don't need to re-read anything.

Explain how my guns which are locked up can harm anyone other than those who would threaten me or my family.

Hey HAL have you've been able to convince one person to agree with you?

On the other hand how many have you've got infracted by ratting them out for insulting you?

HAL, making friends and influencing people the Aspergers way.

This message was brought to you by the Aspergers Association "Just because they can't look you in the eye doesn't mean they're fucking weird"

Wow. Just wow dude. I'm not dignifying this with a full pos...

So you're capable of deciding who lives and who dies?

If necessary, yes. If there is a threat to me or my family, I have no moral problem with removing that threat by any means necessary.

My philosophy on guns: I would rather have one and not need it than need it and not have one.

Can we get him banned yet? Every thread he posts in is derailed almost instantly because he has to respond to EVERY SINGLE POST.

Just because you think you have the right to decide life and death doesn't mean you do, the fact that you think you do have that right makes you irresponsible in my book.
