wav->midi software? or something like it?

are there any programs that can take a wave file as input and give me a midi output? i have a classical music MP3 (pachelbel's cannon in d) and I can't find that specific arrangement for the piano anywhere.

Apparently there is such software.

wav to mid

It doesn't look too expensive - I think I will try it. Thanks for the idea!

that software seems to work pretty well, but i'm having a little trouble with overtones - it sometimes drops notes that are an octave apart but played at the same time. guess I have to play with the threshold... otherwise it seems good.

that is not true. our brain can separate the notes, so WITH ENOUGH WORK a computer could too. not that curent software can... ;)

Excellent comment. All it takes is a little final editing in MIDI software.
