Hi,

I want to compress 25 .wav files of 50mb each in size? What software would you recommend free or otherwise?

The resulting software should be able to amalgamate some of the .wav files into one file.

What codec are you wanting to use to compress the wav files? MP3, FLAC, AAC, OGG? There are lots of choices, and some will be better than others depending on the content of the wav files and the devices that will be playing them back.

Yep, this is a good choice. Just install the lame-mp3 plugin to compress to mp3.
