Wattage Detection of a device

Is there a way to find the wattage a computer is using through some sort of barplug? Like you would plug in the computer into the wattage device and then the wattage device into the wall? It would help me know how much my devices use in electricity, like when the computer is under load etc.

The Kill a watt meter is quite good and very easy to use and doesn't require batteries either. Cheapest a few months ago when i got mine was through a dealer on eb*y.

Dont plan on using it to figure out how many watts your PC components are drawing. It would be completely inaccurate because power supplies are no where near 100% efficient.
