When I heard this comment by her I was speechless. I really hope this is not what they think will change peoples views on universal healthcare.

And lemme tell ya, before you say ?Oh, it?s a commu??, you need to go down there and see what Fidel Castro put in place. And I want you to know, now, you can think whatever you want to about Fidel Castro, but he was one of the brightest leaders I have ever met. [APPLAUSE] And you know, the Cuban revolution that kicked out the wealthy, Che Guevara did that, and then, after they took over, they went out among the population to find someone who could lead this new nation, and they found?well, just leave it there (laughs), an attorney by the name of Fidel Castro?

Maybe she should consider another country for residence, I'm sure the benevolent dictator will give her a position on his staff.

Mountain out of Molehill. Even those who met Hitler and other such leaders have said similar things. "Brightness" is not a Moral Judgement, but a judgement on Ability/Intelligence.

It wasn't about him being intelligent, but about his health care policy and she is almost comparing what Castro did with Obama.

What's the difference? Perhaps his HealthCare policy is impressive. :shrug;

Hitlers Autobahn was impressive too.

I now totally understand the meaning of "apologist". It's not that they are apologizing for such egregious behavior, it's that they think it's OK.

These people are actually federal representatives, can you believe it?

Of course I can, we have a major political party who represents this sort of thing and they won big these past three years.

Jesus christ people, sometimes bad people do good things. Considering Cuba's relative poverty their health care is quite good. Being too proud to admit something Castro did is good because it was Castro that did it is worse than stupid, it's deliberate ignorance. Don't worry, you can still hate Castro for all the evil things he's done.

Ridiculous.

No a mountain out of a molehill is firing a town manager because his wife is a pornstar.

For an elected official to say Fidel Castro is one of the brightest leaders she ever met is ridiculous. She must not meet many on her trips to China, Taiwan, Guam or the country she represents.

She's saying things like if we want to see the president fail, America will fail, do we want a failed state called the U.S.?

"People look at the US as a country that has changed their ways and elected someone from Kenya and Kansas"

And then she goes on to say:

"They want to see the first president that looks like me fail" Yeah lady what a great way to show we changed...

doh I can't belive we pay these people to represent we the people.

This is actually NOT surprising coming from her. My guess is that she considers meeting Castro one of the best days of her life.

His actions show his intelligence as well as his concern for health care.

I was thinking that she may have only met Bush and Castro. In that scenario she would have said, "the most...". She's probably met Obama and some others as well, so "one of the most..." seems quite reasonable.

Definitely the downside to Castro, but doesn't mean he's not Intelligent or that his HealthCare system isn't Intelligent either.

Another day another anti-US commie sympathizer in the (formerly American) Dem Party. Last summer Obama's Houston Campaign Chair had Che posters on her office wall. If libs had brains they would have paid attention to that kind of thing instead on the "tingles" in the pants or whatever. What a mess.

Dude you ever play Half Life 2 - especially the part with the zombies in Ravenholm? Those are the kid of posters you get to argue with his stuff: "Well gee Castro isn't all bad bla bla.". The smart people (even the libs) don't make excuses for Castro but but then there are the zombies. Keep your BS suit charged up.

So after Che ran out the rich they went looking for Castro? I am more appalled by her complete lack of history, or rewriting of it.
