wats the difference between sun and moon roof

A sunroof is usually a solid piece of material that slides out of the way to let the sunlight in.

A moonroof is where a piece of glass is used instead of the solid material so that it lets light in whether the roof is open or closed. Most moonroofs have a sunshade that pulls across the bottom of the moonroof so that one can block out the light if they want to.

99.9% of cars today that have ****roofs available are moonroofs. Car manufacturers sometimes mislabel them as one or the other.

<< i always took it as sun roof is glass (or see through) and a moon roof is not. >>

sunroof can slide back and fourth, so can the moonroof.
the moonroof just use a piece of tinted glass instead of some solid material
also most moonroofs can tilt, not sure if sunroofs can do that.

If posts were sorted by avatar and added up, who do you think would win?

i'm guessing you're avatar.

I always assumed it had something to do with the way they opened up. I know some just tilt up, while others actually slide away into the roof of the car.

that was a shameful plug for yourself ya know. i fed into it on purpose. 😉

the sun is a gaseous giant called a star and the moon roof is an option you could have with most cars it allows you to stand up in a car and flash everyone when driving by

Sunroof is the generic term used to describe an operable panel in a vehicle roof which can let in light and/or air. Moonroof is a term created by Ford in the 70's, yet is now used generically to describe glass panel inbuilt electric sunroofs.
