A few things that bothered me about it:

Why weren't their any storms? A water covered earth should have hurricanes that make Katrina look wimpy.

Also it would be trivial to rig up a solar powered still (they were refining oil iirc), so fresh water wouldn't be so terribly hard to come by.

That's because the earth was cooled with solutions, that's why it couldn't generate any storms.

I enjoyed it and I never understood what people had a problem with. The catamaran was sweet.

Enjoyed it also. At the time I think it got a bad rap because it was the most expensive movie ever made, and had massive budget overruns....

Loved it. Watched it like 10 times in a month too when AMC was running it a while back.

Very mediocre film. Entertaining enough to watch once when it came out. Then maybe again 10 years later.

Now the Waterworld show at Universal Studios is freaking pure awesomeness. (is it still there?)

I was at Universal (Orlando) this year and didnt see any Waterworld ride. The Simpsons ride was friggin sweet though.

It was enjoyable. I wouldn't really call it a good movie in any respect, but it was entertaining.

Waterworld was fairly decent but that ending scene where the 3 bad guys on jetskis converged in an attempt to nab the girl was an utterly horrendous way to kill of the main villian. If I met the guy who wrote that part in the script I would smack him upside the head.
