1) no one knows what the hell the OP is talking about
2) no one knows who the OP has replied to (or not)
3) the only thing we do know, is that the OP has no common sense!

Sorry about all 3 things but if you dont know what a grating is its basically a special patten or vertical lines that measure visual acuity. They also can test contrast sensitivity as the stripe can be shaded some. I'm sorry I didnt lay this out earlier, but there's no need to be cranky.

:p i know what a grating is, but you've given no context to its usage. How big does this image need to be? What does the image look like? etc....

So what's the reason that this wouldn't work?

The background has to be white because of the pattern I'm printing as explained in a post I just made

So glue a piece of white plastic to the back?

Make what ever it is you need to make, then bring it to Kinkos and have them laminate it. Its very cheap, and it will be 100% water proof.

My prof wants me to stay away from lamination so I'm going to see if I can find some local store with waterproof paper first.

you have to laminate it twice. after the first limate is stuck you need to cut the excess plastic from all the way round your paper. when that is done put your paper in a new laminate and send it through the heater again, actually you should send it through a couple of times to get a good seal.

Oh what a good prof to make you stay away from the most logical, most effective, and most economical method out there.

Props to him!

What kind of laminating are you using?

The thin kind that people laminate for cost effectiveness probably won't help.

Try getting laminates at Kinkos that work much better because they are much thicker and use a better heat roller thingy (whatever the laminate heater is called :p ).

The last person working on this project used lamination and it was NOT successful...

Are you serious? The ink would run off. Maybe you could put the paper in a layer of epoxy.

THats the point of the test. It is to isolate the mutants that could be responsible for vision defects.

It's probably a stupid question, but could you double laminate the paper? Once it's been laminated once, put it through again.

Just a thought.

I like the transparency idea. Cheap as well and should be totally waterproof. Or get a better laminator. THey make some that are really thick and there's no way water is getting in there...

My girlfriend thought ahead. She laminated her pictures before giving them to me.

it won't if you use a laser printer.
