Watercooling: how loud is the pump? (Eheim 1250 pump)

I'm thinking about watercooling, not sure if it'd be worth it for me... I just want a quiet computer.

How much noise does the water pump make? I'm looking at a eheim 1250 or 1048... 'quiet' isn't good enough.

I don't plan on having 40dba 120mm fans in my system, i'm looking at a few papst 23dba fans that can be switched to 7v so they'd make <20dba.... how much noise does a pump make?

When i mounted it to the case I'd put it on rubber washers and stuff like that.

Anyone know bout what their noise rating is?

One other question, I was thinking about instead of 1 radiator with a loud 120mm fan, why can't you use 2 bigger radiators and quieter fans? 2 120mm 23dba fans are gonna push more air than a 50dba 120mm fan and the noise difference is huge.

Okay yea so the problem with that is the pump doesn't want to work that hard right? Can you have 2 pumps in a inline system? I was thinking one before the radiators and one before the cpu

pump cpu gfxcard pump radiator radiator - repeat

Anyone able to help me on this ? not many people here seem to beinto water cooling :/

Anyone? 🙁

I was seaching on some other forums and found this:
"the pump it gets so quite that all you hear is the water flowing through the lines. If i were to take a guess i would say it runs at about 18-20 dba."
but they were talking about some other pump and I'd still rather get some better info.

Anyone?

I don't think you can put two pumps inline like that. Although they're rated the same, there can be some fluctuation, especially if there's a different amount of pressure each pump is pumping against.

The Eheim pumps aren't exactly wimps either -- one pump will be enough to push it through two radiators.

Sorry, no idea about the noise.

Yea I'm still tring to find people who are using 2 pumps to see what they're doing... koolance has 2 pumps in their new case, so i figure its doable but I dunno hopefully I'll only need 1.

BTW for Jacelyn at least, the pumps make no noise at all, they just vibrate alot. Asked this question on Hardocp and got an answer in like 5 minutes hehe. Some dude said if he turns off his compute rnad leaves the pump on and holds it in his hand theres no noise at all, but it vibrates alot so when you put it in the case it can make stuff vibrate and make some noise.... so there ya go.

Mount it on some foam or something, or suspend it in the air wiht thick rubberbands (like that harddrive suspension thing.. u can see it at plycon.com)

Okay tahts all.

Thx for hte replies
