got alot more rain overnight in Dallas...lots of streets got flooded...some people have been stuck for several hours this morning because of this...at I30 and Loop 12 for those that know the DFW area...check out traffic backup in upper right corner...equally bad in the other direction as well...

Hmm. Didn't know Dallas was flooding - I'm heading there tomorrow.

Surprisingly this front petered out as it entered East Texas. My place stayed dry last night. Where I live, we've already exceeded 2014's total rainfall.
Fuck you California, here you go Texas.

Yesterday I finally got an umbrella, for the first time in 10 years.
THAT should tell you something ... or not.

I passed over the Trinity River (East Fork) yesterday on my way to Dallas. Holy crap. Entire fields were flooded spanning a mile probably. The piddly river is now a lake. Water was pouring out of one field in one looong waterfall fronting the road. Looked like the highway overpass was maybe 7-8 feet above the water line. Dangerously close to submerging the interstate, IMO. Never seen anything like it.

Closer to home, the Sabine River has also become a tree-choked swamp. I'd guess at 10 feet over its banks. Fishermen were out in force.
